La B. Fujiko is a Milan-based choreographer, movement director and multidisciplinary artist working across fashion, music, screen and live performance.
Her movement background began with competitive rhythmic gymnastics, followed by modern, contemporary and classical dance. She later entered the world of hip hop and house dance, practices she studied and performed for several years and which became a significant part of her movement background.
She began working professionally as a dancer at 20, moving across theatre, television and events, and performing for artists in live shows and music videos.
A scholarship later took her to New York to further her training in dance. During her time there, she also encountered waacking and voguing, practices that were still largely absent from the European dance landscape. Over the following years, she returned to New York regularly to continue studying, while travelling throughout Europe to develop her research and practice. She became the first Italian exponent of waacking and voguing and a pioneering figure for both forms in Italy.
Since 2010, she has taught, performed and judged at dance events throughout Italy and internationally, working across Europe and Asia, as well as in Russia.
Since 2014, she has created and produced more than 50 events in Milan and other Italian cities, contributing to the development of Italy’s ballroom scene. She is Mother of the Iconic House of Ninja Italy and founder of BBallroom.
Alongside her artistic practice, she studied theatre and completed postgraduate programmes in entertainment entrepreneurship, diversity and inclusion, and gender studies.
Today she works primarily as a choreographer, movement director and creative director for artists, live shows, fashion campaigns, screen and digital productions, often overseeing performance from casting and choreography through staging and execution. She is also the founder of Unagency.
